about me

This is the writings of a twenty-two year old trying to figure out life post graduation.

After realizing jobs were few and far between in the States, I moved to Beijing. Starting out as a teacher, I quickly saw that teaching run by corrupt Chinese (and Scottish) men was not for me and branched out in the city on my own. Currently, I’m working as a personal assistant for the CEO of a media company based in Beijing. She was recently named one of Cosmo’s Business Women of the Year.

I also do side projects to help me gain experience and insight into the world of media. I’m the Event and Marketing Coordinator for Girls in Tech China, an organization which provides a platform for women in technology to connect, empower, and learn from each other. With the increasing importance of technology and its convergence with other professions, the necessity to educate, celebrate, and support women in this field has become impossible to ignore.

I hope my journey sees me work in advertising world. I would love nothing more than to be an account executive at a firm.

You’ll soon notice that I can be very critical of Beijing. However, I hope it will also come through that its a love-hate relationship. Beijing is never dull. Nothing (except the smog) stays the same. I get to meet the most eccentric people and get thrown into the craziest of situations. I would be bored anywhere else.

Follow me on my crazy experience of a lifetime.
